Better get walking.

"Screw it," you say aloud with a dismissive gesture. The car can wait. Clearly, it's not going anywhere. You turn your back to it and start walking towards work. At this point, you're not convinced you're going to make yourself go in if you get there, not with the way things have been so far today, but you start walking all the same. The walk is normal and uneventul enough, except you gradually start to notice a shocking lack of people. There are no cars driving on the roads, no pedestrians, no customers in stores or restaurants. Where could they have all gone?
