The man before you fills in the silence by asking, "Yes?"
"Well, I didn't bring any breadsticks," you say.
The man's eyes shoot open wide and he exclaims, "WHAAAAAAT?!" He breathes heavily and his eyes seem to pulse with each thump of his heart. You can't tell if he's upset or just having a stroke. His countenance doesn't change when he speaks, but the man's voice sounds calm when you next hear it. "And why not?"
