Take a well aimed strike while it's prone.

You raise your sword over the beasts sleeping head then bring it crashing down. The monster has a bony place protecting its face which shatters from the hit, rudely waking the beast into an immediate roar. You cover your ears against the sound as as soon as it's over, the battle is back on. You go back and forth for a few minutes, the beast dealing some superficial damage to you despite its weakened state, but you are strong and came prepared; it can't keep up with your dodges and blows. Soon, in a final moment of triumph, you plunge your sword through the beast's breast. With a cough of blood, the monster cat breathes his last. You stand triumphant as the mission ends and wake back in your bed as a fearsome hunter.

Did you even remember to carve the monster when it died?
