You start writing an interactive story. It starts small, but soon you've got dozens then hundreds of endings. The more you try to finish, the more you have to write. Branches extend and expand exponentially, and there's no way to keep up. You try, though, and you work diligently, but you work forever. You work on forever because a project like this is a juggernaut, and it will (and has) consume(d) your soul.
