You charge forward at the limping beast with your sword at the ready. You bring down a fierce vertical strike against the monster's tail, wounding the beast, but it continues its escape. On the third strike, the end of the tail comes clean off, and the monster cat roars and turns and fearsome paw towards you. With you sword down and off balance from having just severed the tail, you can't respond quite fast enough; the claws tear into your armor and send you flying. The cat leaps and crunches your armor with a bit as you rise, plunging giant fangs through your heart.
