The hallway glitters like Christmas with a thousand different lights, beckoning you closer. It does tempt you -- of course it does -- with the gliterring lights and the way it opens into a whole new realm of adventure, but you stay put. "That doesn't look safe," you tell the empty room. You already tried the doors and made a fair exit through the window; all that's left to do is wait.
You sit down on your couch, watching the hallway for lack of a better way to spend your time. It's a strange hallway already, but you shortly notice that it seems to be spreading. That is, the lights and circuits seem to be leaking out of that strange space onto your walls and floor and cieling, turning your home into some sort of cyber-scene. Within the hour, the techno-contagion has begun infecting the couch. Soon you can see circuitry rising out of your skin, too, but you stay put still. What else are you going to do? Soon, the transformation is complete, and the robot who was once you stands ready to go down that blinking hall and go home.
