"What are you trying to say?" she asks you. "Are you saying I'm not authentic?"
A little puzzled at her vapid response, you say, "that's literally exactly what I said, yes."
"So, you think I'm, what, unauthentic or something?"
"Inauthentic," you correct. That's the last straw; by correcting her grammar, you've finally hurt her feelings. The woman starts a sniffle, which slowly turns into a full sob. "Oh, shit," you blurt out, "I'm sorry," but it's too late; you are a hurter of feelings. You wake up feeling the full weight of having been a mild detriment to a person's temporary emotional state.
