You call into the radio station and, after a brief hold, find yourself live on the air. The host answers with, "Hello, caller! For the bazillion trillion million dollars, how many fingers am I holding up?"
"Well," you say, "I'm not sure, but I'm going to guess just one."
"That's right!" he answers with unchecked enthusiasm. "And which finger do you think it is?"
"Uh...I don't know?" you say.
"It's the middle one, of course!" he announces, "so screw you! You get nothing!" He then disconnects the call, but you can still hear him laughing on the radio.
You're not sure what to feel at that. You're let down, embarassed, sad, hurt, angry, and a dozen other things. Ultimately, what you are is so upset that you wake up.
