They got married and live on the hill.

You couldn't stay after hearing those words. You couldn't even speak. You just grabbed a bottle off the counter and finished half of it before you hit the door. What could that snake have done to convince Annie to marry him?

You know where they are, and you intend to find your answers yourself. The house on the hill is huge, a family heirloom of sorts that Hank inherited from some other dead person who thought he cared. What a joke. You bang on the knocker and he answers the door.

"Heard you was back," he says.

"Guess you ain't so good at killin' people as you thought, Hank," you reply.

"You got it all wrong," he answers with a smirk. "T'weren't me what wanted you dead."

From behind him, a woman's voice calls your name, and Hank steps aside to let Annie pass. You accept her in an open hug, tears stinging your eyes, but she doesn't hug you back. There's a pain in your chest, but it's not heartache; she's stabbed you.

What a twist.
