You hang up, ignoring the childish phone call, and pick the phone back up to dial your own number. The caller seems to be gone, but there's no dial tone. The screen on the phone says, "no line." Well, you'll have to find it eventually, either way. You dedicate yourself solely to the task, looking everywhere you can think to look, even places you don't think it could possibly be, but it doesn't seem to be anywhere.
Finally, after hours of searching, you hear something faintly calling from your bedroom. You walk in, recognizing the sound, and knowing your phone is near. You don't see it, but the sound is loud and piercing. It's here. It's not the normal ring, though, either. No, this tone is what you have set for...oh, it's your alarm.
