Here Comes the Sun

You think back to the inspiring chorus of the popular Beatles song written by George Harrison. You turn the radio off, humming the song to yourself rather than listening to anything. And sure enough, here comes the sun. In the distance, it is mounting the horizon, and growing larger as it rises. But that's strange, isn't it? Aren't things supposed to seem larger when they're closer to the horizon? It seems to be getting hot as well. That's the the realization dawns; the sun is literally coming towards you. It must be coming pretty fast, too, as it's visibly growing in the sky. Within a few minutes, blisters have risen all over your body and your eyes have burst. Life on Earth ends abruptly and without much suffering, mostly because of a tangential thought related to a late Beatle.

It's been a long, cold, lonely winter.
