Why does this matter?

One of the monkeys raises a conspicuously intelligent eyebrow and speaks to you with Dream's voice. "I'll tell you why it matters," the Dream monkey says. "It matters because hats make a statement about you and your life; a safari hat could mean a jungle adventure, or a fedora could look good walking away into the sunset. If you wear a ball cap, we all know your favorite team."

"And if I don't wear a hat?" you ask.

"Well," says the voice of Dream, "every kind of hat has its own story..."

"But what about no hat?" you insist.

"You know," Dream begins again, "I haven't really thought of that. I'll tell you what, why don't you just go ahead and wake up? Then we can do this again another time and you can just wear the stupid hat, okay?" With that, the monkey snaps his fingers and your eyes shoot open to wakefulness.

Just wear the stupid hat.
